Light and Wind

for choir
Program:
Light and Wind was written at the request for a "choral fanfare."  As a brass player, this struck me as a kind of conundrum; choirs don't really do fanfares.  So, I considered what the purpose of this piece really is -- to welcome a group of people to a new place.  In that context, there's no need for a fanfare to be loud and fast.  It just needs to feel like...home.

Written for and performed by the Shenandoah Conservatory Choir; Dr. Scott Allen Jarrett, conductor
